John Parker was born and raised in Bend, Oregon, where his parents started and operated Central Oregon's first photo-finishing labs. He grew up with a camera in hand, winning Best of Show at the Deschutes County Fair at ten years old — and has been chasing light across the American West, and beyond, ever since.
His landscape work is technical and deliberate: research into moon phase, weather, and terrain often precedes a single exposure by months. His wildlife work asks the opposite of him — long stretches of stillness, waiting for something to happen once.
That same eye works at altitude: as an internationally recognized aerial photographer and cinematographer, John leads ParkAir Vision, flying air-to-air photography for aviation and luxury brands — over 1,000 photo sorties, from vintage Cubs to 5th-generation fighters. Commissioned by clients including Textron Aviation, Breitling, and Cirrus Aircraft, his prints are also held in private collections.
